Practicing genres come with a list of expectations, structures,tones and purpose. By practicing Genres, a writer learns how to adapt to change to direct their attention to their audience. Genre doesn't only benefit a writer it can also apply to the reader as well by showing them how to recognize patterns or themes within their readings. In class we were asked to create our own short story, this helped us apply our knowledge and create our own context to illustrate our information and help create our own audience
